Rich in history and culture, Palm Beach County offers many marvelous museums for you to explore. For art aficionados, there's the ever-popular Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. Founded in 1941 by Chicago industrialist Ralph Hubbard Norton and his wife Elizabeth Calhoun Norton, the Norton Museum of Art boasts a permanent collection of more than 5,000 works from Europe, Asia, America and China. Photographic and Contemporary Art and revolving exhibitions are also on display. In Southern Palm Beach County, a must-visit is the Boca Raton Museum of Art at beautiful Mizner Park. Exhibits, educational programs, lectures, gallery tours and studio art classes are presented on a regular basis. In Whitehall, you can go back in time and learn all about the vital area contributions made by Henry Morrison Flagler at the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, including the innovative Florida East Coast Railway. Another great place to soak in knowledge about the area's history is at the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum at the fully restored 1916 Courthouse.
